On November 17, 2022, Dan Selner, DDS, a Creighton University undergrad and dental school alumnus, spoke to the crowd at Blake Street Tavern about his 10 years serving as the rink-side dentist for the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche hockey team. He also talked about his positive experiences employing Arrupe Jesuit High School work-study students in his dental practice and encouraged anyone with a business to consider offering a placement for Arrupe students.
On August 6, 2022, the Denver Jesuit Alumni Network hosted a send-off Mass and social for students heading off to Jesuit colleges and universities.
Four Jesuit priests concelebrated the Mass — Fathers Pat Quinn (St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church Parochial Vicar), John Nugent (Arrupe Jesuit High School Principal), Marcus Fryer (Arrupe Jesuit High School Dean of Students), and Jim Goeke (Regis Jesuit High School Community Superior).
Students and alumni from Creighton, Fordham, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Regis, St. Joseph’s, Santa Clara, and Xavier processed into Mass carrying their school banners. Creighton had the greatest number of alumni represented and a student going to St. Joseph’s had the most family member support — his parents, two grandmothers, a grandfather, and his four brothers!
