Heroic Leadership for All
Wednesday, February 15, 2023
12:00 p.m. Eastern
Featured Speaker: Chris Lowney
Chris Lowney will share thoughts about leadership in a "VUCA world," (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) and will point out how centuries-old habits or values from the Jesuit tradition turn out to be highly relevant to success leadership in today's volatile, uncertain environments. In particular, he will talk about "inner freedom" in the face of important decisions, and about the value of taking a "mental pit stop" every day. Chris will also introduce Heroic Leadership for All, a unique online leadership certificate course, pioneered in partnership with Santa Clara University, that can enable each person to become more effective leaders by connecting the riches of the Jesuit tradition to their personal and professional lives.
Speaker Bio:
Chris Lowney currently chairs the board of CommonSpirit Health, a Catholic healthcare system that is one of America's largest hospital systems, with more than one hundred hospitals across twenty-one states. Previously, Chris served as a Managing Director of the investment banking firm J.P. Morgan & Co. in Tokyo, Singapore, London, and New York. He has authored six books, including the bestselling Heroic Leadership, which has been translated into eleven languages; His other works include Pope Francis: Why He Leads the Way He Leads; and Everyone Leads: How to Revitalize the Catholic Church. Chris was born in New York City, hates the Yankees, and is a long-suffering Mets fan. He holds seven honorary doctoral degrees, but lacks the chops to earn one the old-fashioned way.
